February Marks Career Month

Post Published On:

In celebration of February’s Career Month, Thomas University will be providing valuable resources to help students prepare for the workforce.

While the Career Center arranges sessions for students with career coaches throughout the academic year, seniors and graduate students are especially encouraged to visit with career coaches at the Career Center this month.

“The Career Center’s career coaches are highly trained in the core elements and strategies for finding the kind of job you really want when you graduate from Thomas University,” Donald Lewis, Career Center Director, said.

“We’re a 100% virtual Career Center with all student-to-career coach counseling sessions in the privacy of the coach’s Zoom room. So, it’s really easy for students to connect with their own Career Coach.”

Lewis said career counselors will establish a relationship with each student-client where they go through the process of resume building, cover letter writing, LinkedIn and social media platform marketing, and job interviewing skills.

“Many students think that all they need is a good resume and a lot of Google job searches,” Lewis said. “But it’s having the whole package of self-marketing materials and job-hunting skills that make the difference.”
